The Magic of Monsoon

I love monsoons. Rains are magical. Somehow, the sound of raindrops deepen the silence. I feel mesmerised when I stand by the window and watch the swaying trees and the dancing droplets. And if it is a light drizzle, I just can’t resist standing under it, raising my face and enjoying the sensation of the drops. Sheer bliss! Here are some of my favourite quotes on the rains – some happy, some sad and some just matter-of-fact…

“I always like walking in the rain, so no one can see me crying.”

Charles Chaplin

“The rain to the wind said,
You push and I’ll pelt.’
They so smote the garden bed
That the flowers actually knelt,
And lay lodged–though not dead.
I know how the flowers felt.”

Robert Frost

“Do not be angry with the rain; it simply does not know how to fall upwards.”

Vladimir Nabokov

–x–

“Love like rain, can nourish from above, drenching couples with a soaking joy. But sometimes under the angry heat of life, love dries on the surface and must nourish from below, tending to its roots keeping itself alive.”

Paulo Coelho
